Which Case Trimming Setup?

I'm looking at getting a trimming station as the hand held lee care trimmers are painfully slow, even with a battery drill on the end.

I've looked at the Hornady Cam Lock and the RCBS Trim Pro Manual. Leaning towards the Hornady unit as I don't really want to spend more than £100 and appreciate I'll need calibre specific attachment in with the cost of the trimmer unit. Will need it for .223 and .308

Looking for advise from people who use trimming stations as to what is a good one.

I think the best two are the forster and Wilson. I like forster as you don't need the individual case holders. I reload for quite a few calibers though.

Have you looked at the Lee deluxe case trim?

It is cheap, accurate and fast. By trimming to length and applying an external/internal chamfer you are killing all the birds in one hit.

Which means that you do not have to reset your trimmer for chamfering, which I found to be a PITA with Lyman and similar trimmers.

I've had mine for about 4 months, and its good kit.

i have 2 of these,

1 in 243 and one in 20 tac,

fixed to a cheap stand drill from lidl's with a 12 volt moter,

job done.

Who supplies these in the UK? Can't find them anywhere.

Wish I was still in a machine shop, I'd make one of these, just an end mill mounted in a frame.

I don't like the idea of using the shoulder as a reference though.
when you bump the shoulders back a smidge your trim will be off

It took a while to decide which trimmer to get, went with the Wilson, got it right first time imo, quick, easy and very precise trimming.

I have a Wilson but must admit I don't use it much. The Forster, on the other hand, trims to the same degree of accuracy as my Wilson (or visa-versa) but also neck turns and inside neck reams when I want it to. Changing calibers is inexpensive and fast and the accessories are reasonably priced.~Muir

I have a wilson trimmer here. With stand and base etc. 100 pound. Used to do 100 brass thats it.
I only got it to do 17 fireball. Now I only have 22/250 and 223 I use the lee one.
