agreed but at the end of the day if you fired a bit of gravel at 3000fps it will kill
I am intrigued how for standard stalking purposes any cup and core design is failing to kill humanely and it is down entirely to the bullet construction and constituent materials.
We are not shooting dangerous game or buffalo here.
if it goes through both sides, slows down a bit between the two and gets a bit wider on the way......that is all it has to do!
Very true, probably more down to shot placement and managing the expectations of newer people who have only used varmint rounds before shooting deer.
I use the same bullet here for Moose , Elk and bear , they work great . I've also used their 8mm bullets with really good results .
285 gr 9.3x62 do fine for me on European boar and in Africa.

Are you able to by your 9.3 priv in the Uk or do you buy it abroad?
just Kranks keep telling me that they will not import 9.3mm bullets or ammo in 62 or 74r when ever I ask them

It seems to me that people of a certain type, class PPU in the same light as Baikel shotguns forgetting that an awful lot of Baikel shotguns have accounted for a lot of pigeons over the years.
The Baikel only gets changed when the user takes up Game shooting !!
BTW, Years ago, I used to go out with a girl, who's bro shot clays for Scotland in the Commonwealth Games,I'm sure he got a medal or two.... he used a Baikal...![]()
The first load I built for my 8x57 vintage Mauser with the 196-gr PPU bullets shot a cluster, all shots touching, just using the Lyman receiver sight. I gave the load to someone as a start for his 8x60S, and he went no further, getting 2,500 fps. He shot a large bear head on, in the chest, and it exited the rear ham, turning it into a rug right on the spot.
The Husky 648 is sweet, slim and well-balanced. I have not shot the PPU 8x57 ammo, but it should do about 2,450 fps out of that full 23.5 inch barrel. I got a deal on some new PPU brass, bought their match bullets at $22.00 as a cheap practice load for my Hornady 195-gr SPT, and then added on some 196-gr SPT. I was pleasantly surprised at how well both the PPU bullets shot out of my Yugo M48 and my Sauer 98 Mauser.
I need to get looking for a Husky 648 sporter in 6.5x55 Swede, because I see 648s as low as $250.00 in really good condition.
