243 fazination???

Ok, whats wrong with the story? Is it the Scurvy Dog or the bitter?

My experiences in the UK have been limited to the areas around Sculthorpe/Kings Lynn and the US Air Base there. In 1991 my team was part of an exercise and we made a para drop on the air base. Apprently the pilot/navigator was a bit confused as the 8 of us were dropped on top of and between the buildings on the base instead of between the runways....

Bitter -- only in England.
It's Heavy here.

Scurvy Dog -- not sure, sounds English though :suss: :)

Re the para drop...what was wrong with the pub :).

I'm familiar with the area. Used to see A10's lining up on the road, scary.
Think they were told off for that.

ah yes, sculthorpe, I remember there being TR1 spy planes there at the back end of the 80s, longest heated runway in Europe I believe

We were using MC-130s for our infil aircraft. They are the ones with the large nose featuring the STAR recovery system and mostly in one shade of gray. Probably around that area only once a year in the 1980s. The fall of the Wall and end of the Cold War pretty much ended those exercises.

As I recall it was Norwich Bitter we drank in the pubs there about.

The Cold War, The Wall, properly funded armed forces.
Ahh happy days :)

ps... and I'm not being ironic or sarcastic.
We all knew the score back then.

Ha well said!

I missed Buckaroo8's comment.

To respond, the women mostly carry the guns and don't shoot often. Many only "hunt" a short time til getting married before giving up the sport. The man then either rebarrels the action to a more practical caliber or trades it in against a new one.:-P

Perhaps this should be a sticky to help others from making the mistake of thinking they might need one.
