There is another brit in my Jagdhorn group who had transferred to BMW during the Rover years over 20 years ago and is a passionate trumpet player, he was in the Territorials when he was younger and got to do some stonking with Hereford types and some fun house work, his stated preferred weapon of choice was a Sterling.
But he has no hunting licence and was curious about shooting so at the weekend we had our local free day at the local big range. First off he cut his nose on my scope with the first shot but afterwards I put him on the trap range with my Merkel 16G o/u whereupon he from two boxes a total of 50 shots made at least 25 hits. Now he seems to have caught the shot gunning bug and that at 57 years old.
BTW afterwards with my box of 25 I hit two.
