‘Modern’ .270?

The ideal arrangement would be to have a classic wood stocked, blued rifle in .270, with a 6x42 scope on it, no mod. For use on high days and holidays.

And then an all singing all dancing tacticool PRC for slogging through clearfell in the rain.

I’ve kind of gone that way with the .222 . Although you won’t catch me without a moderator..

I just can’t seem to shake the idea that for ammo going forward,(for reloading) the world is your oyster in 6.5 and .30 cal options

The answer to all "which rifle" conundrums is just to get one of each. Problem solved.

I have a wood and blued Sako 75 in .270 and will never part with it. I wouldn't think twice about taking the .270 for a slog through clearfell in the rain though. If the wood gains some patina from use then no problem, and a wipe over with an oily rag will stop it rusting. It's a tool to be used and I don't mind if it gets some battle scars as I will never move it on.
