100 yards or metres zero ?

As above what do most people do ?
And does it make any difference ?
Not if you do your bit.....3" is the difference so 8 yards @ 100mts. it equates to a pigeon shot at 25 or 33 yards...

You don't have time to calculate like the range finder using stalkers...lol

Depends. If you are shooting live quarry only, it makes sense to zero your rifle at any distance you choose and then to know what your round is doing at the sort of distances at which you are likely to encounter live quarry. Whether that is in Metres or Yards makes no difference, and will largely depend on what your rangefinder measures in (if you use one)

If you shoot targets at varying ranges it does make a difference. I use target turrets which adjust in 1/4moa clicks. Mental arithmetic is simple if I calculate range in Yards and POI shift in MOA. I know others whose scopes adjust in Mil, and they work in metres.

I work on a 4" target size for .243 then work out what the max point blank range is for the load I am using. For my100 grn loads this is according to Strelock a 212yrd zero with mpbr of 242 yrds.
Works OK for me . YMMV

Pick one, stick with it, and make sure all your kit works in the same units. Meters and Mils, Yards and MOA. Range finder, Turrets, Reticule and shot solution calculator (Strelok or the like) all need to work in the same units to make your life simple. Mix them up and you have a lot of calculations to do.

When is your test? I am back down in West Sussex in early May. If you want you can nip down and use my range, with an official Level 1 Roe target. The target has a faint white circle on it, which is not easy to see. The trick is to come up the middle of the front leg and squeeze the trigger. You will be in the kill zone on the target.

You have my number, and if your course is in mid to late May, and you have time to come over, you are welcome.

Thanks Malc ... next Sunday .. but many thanks for the offer !

Ill be seeing you for a stalk in late may anyway !

Just seen the other post, so its next Sunday. You will be fine. Any help you need give me call. Glad to hear new baby and your other half are well. Congratulations.

You can also pick a zero distance depending on if you are using MOA or Mils.

Some scopes are 0.36” MOA at 100 yards, or 1cm MILS at 100 meters per click on the Ballistic Turret.
Like Yards or Meters, pick MOA or MILS.
