I can’t say I ever really noticed much difference between them when I had both.

.25-06 and .300 weatherby magnum

.25-06 it’s quick, effective and a delight to shoot
.300 weatherby magnum - it’s an extremely effective cartridge that does exactly what it says on the tin - humane to the animal….. less so the the shooter

(All jokes aside the recoil isn’t that bad)

Same could be said for any other deer legal calibre too though

Spent years trying to find 2 that work so well on all quarry .. ( I would add a 3rd - .22lr , as every cabinet has to have one )

agreed! I just think 6.5 is a great all rounder for the uk! From fox to stags its not marginal either way with the selection of bullets available.
But if i had to choose two calibers it would defo be 6.5

I love mine (12" barrelled Martini). Fancy a new barrel but finding it hard to find something that ticks so many boxes as 38/357.

Honestly I have one rifle a 6.5x55 that’s it range work and big deer and small deer and foxes and …..

I only have more than one rifle because of the different sighting systems on them.
