22lr shotshell

The paradox barrels were an attempt to reduce the disruption to shot while imparting spin to conventional bullets.

Slightly off topic but years ago rifled slug barrels on shotguns were used for close range shooting ie woodcock jumping in cover. The rifling caused a wide dispersant of the shot, reducing carcass damage. Haven't heard of anyone here doing it for years, presumably the laws governing rifled slugs/barrels contributing to their decline.

And rabbits at close range. I have seen and wish I had purchased a Manufrance rifled in BOTH left and right barrel. It'd have been an ideal close in pigeon decoying gun.

"For shooting at bolted rabbits as well as woodcock use one of our double barrel guns with the right barrel rifled...."

Cheers guys anyone know where to get some of these 22lr bullets that have been mentioned ?
CB Long or Zimmer Patrone type cartridges, segmented hp or the Aguilar 22lr super colibri ?
Aguila .22LR Super Colibri 20g work beautifully through my Miroku 22LR.
Expensive, but then I don't plink with them; they are for cleaning up ferals in my back garden (Rats and Rainbow Lorikeets).

Beretta made a shotgun o/u with short barrels with rifling in one barrel especially for woodcock shooting!

So I've been using a cheap spring air rifle shooting rats.
I've thought about trying the 22lr with subs but just don't have the safe backstop as much as I'd like.

I've heard of these 22lr shotshell rounds, have anyone got any reviews about them ?
Anyone around East Sussex have a few spare I could try before maybe buying some in bulk ?
Don’t bother with them. Completely useless

CCI do a quiet range for target or hunting , I recomend the target type ( about 30 ft lb ) but a std 40 grain bullet that has proven accuracy . 22 shot shells are frankly rubbish go for a light 11 gram 410 ( they are available ) if it must be shot .
Most low energy 22 rf ammo is poor usually ( very poor indeed but the CCI really are shooters ! )

.22 shot shells are ok for mice in sheds or dispatching rats or squirrels in cage traps, that’s about it in my opinion. I did shoot a weasel with a .22 shot shell but it was only a few feet away.

22LR shot is handy, but using rifle kind of defeats the purpose.

We can use handguns, so e.g. ambushing rats in known location just put electronic muffs on, laser pointer on revolver and load shotshell. You can aim with minimal movement, dropping the laser on the rat at the last moment.

Although the few times I've done that, I've rolled my own mild #13 in 357 Mag case. But a friend used 22LR to good effect.
