read it slightly wrong but i would of failed anyway ,don't hav a custimized rifle in anyway shape or form unless my brno counts as it has 2 stocks (posh or wot)
a wooden one for the summer and special occasions, then a synthetic for the winter or when is raining
does look good in wood though

Glad to hear everyone is well JAYB.

Just got back of a 4 day hunt for Chinks and Munties. Even managed to get Mr B over to where I was hunting with the clients. All went well, Nice Chink and a nice representative Muntie in the bag in good time. And the client has rebooked for 2008.

Mr B is now sporting a serious winter coat, slightly thicker than when he was in Scotland. if he gets a serious suntan, he could end up looking like a member of Al quidea?

Us Nutters do feel a troll in our midst

The main reason I like wood stocks on my rifles is the same as I like my whiskey to be aged in an old sherry cask. I could drink wood alcohol but I prefer no to.
As far as professional hunters not all of them use the good old plastic fantastic with 26" barrel, etc etc. Usually a battered 243,270 or 308 but they do know how to use them.
I have to shoot deer because I have to and not because I like to, does that make me serious??
Anyway if you have been taught to clean your rifle properly and promply then wood/plastic makes no difference, its a fashion thing.Newbies tend to believe everything they are told at the BDS Level 1 training.
However if there is a troll in our midst it must be quite damp under that bridge and you could end up with you wood getting warped

what calibre is best for trolls or should i just bring the 3006 sporting a wooden coat better go and load some ammo

Not too much whiskey was consumed but I managed to plant another 1050 trees. The prevailing wind and rain gave the roe deer a 300 m head start so they are all safe munching on those trees.
Anyway back in two weeks to see if we can reduce the population a bit. Just out of cheek I was pinning up a target at 200m from the cabin when a roe deer ran past at 30m, just my luck to have the rifle not too hand.

Not too sure how good a 3006 will be on a troll, remember they can only be shot at 400 yds +, in thick fog using a 6.5mm ultra mega tactical mildot super magnum short synthetic stainless tungsten mussel break moderated real tree airfix rifle like the professionals use.

Glad to hear you had a good time MarkH. Trolls are usually easy to spot and track. The distinctive 5 groove track on either side of the footprint, shows where their knuckles have been dragging along the ground.
