Last 270 was a tika t3 lite synthetic, deff kicked harder than new sauer 404 30-06 with a nice stock... as many have said not much in it and a lot to do with the gun.Not owned but observed them when hit by one some several times (red stags) and thought they hit hard and had much “ wallop” compared to 270, you felt it hurt so to speak.

I was getting 2900fps with 168gr in .308.I blast away every week my 3006. It has more recoil than 308 but hits with greater authority. Handloaded 165gr nosler ballistic tips at 2850fps you can't go wrong.
If you don't reload then I'd get a 308.
That's a very hot load. Infact even very hot for a 30-06I was getting 2900fps with 168gr in .308.
I think the differences between them are so small as to be not worth worrying about, at least until you start trying to load bullets > 180gr or so.
46.8gr of Rs52.Interested to know powder and charge - 200 fps more than Viht’s hottest .308 168 grainer load is some difference!
