Just opened my last box of 1000 CCI LRPs No. 200 and discovered that 5 of the trays are bloody No 250 magnum primers! Sooooo - having perused t'internet and a few posts on this site it would appear that these can be used in the .308 but they are 20% plus hotter than standard, can increase pressure by upto 10k and thus loads should be decreased by a full grain initially then if desired worked up SLOWLY!
Now, being of a certain age and a year older this very day than I was yesterday, if you get my drift, I am highly suspicious of anything even remotely dangerous - call me old-fashioned but there you go.
Sooo, the big question is do I use them with a milder charge than my go-to 47gns of N140 driving a Sierra 125gns Prohunter and work up a new load - from say 45gns?
(Interestingly Viht's current website shows 43.2-47.2gns of N140 which puts my 47gns at their top end but when I found my niche of 47gns their then manual (younger members-ask your grandad) showed 45.3-49.9gns for said N140!).
Or
Bin them?

Yes, yes - I know I should take them back to the sodding RFD but it could be any one of four and I cannot remember which one - see line 4 above.
