6.5 creedmoor

weeellll, I prefer the term "manly and rugged looking" to ugly, lol, and i am bald too! - that must be why i shoot a 7x57 and not a creed ,D haha

Well actually i do shoot a late 1800ies pendant to the creed (the 6.5x57) but reckon i can keep doing that without a man bun, or....... might the classic older, but by now semi obscure calibers, have passed into ultra hipster territory, and i now need an elaborate beard growth and grooming protocol, only wearing home made clothing made out of organic fibers and drinking home brewed beer solely, to be able to shoot it? :-|
  :lol:I do apologise for my terminology. I am rugged with a hip looking beard ...thats about as polite as I can go 👍 Not sure the Gaymoor owners club would admit me but alas we cant have everything in life lol

Lead?

I’m sure you’re experienced enough to realise that any calibre can have disastrous performance if you use the wrong bullet in the wrong context.

Shoot a 130gr ballistic tip from a .270 into a roe deer at 50 yards, and you might as well just shove it into the bushes and go home.
Yep, i think lead ammo in sweden, for bigger deer at least, needs to be least 9 gram so more or less 140 grn, and hold 2700 joules at 100 meters, or 10 gram so approx 156 grm and hold 2000 joules of energy at a 100 meters.

Translate that to 270 or 7mm BC and SD wise, which the swedish rules unfortunately doesnt take much into consideration, (as they seemingly operate mainly on energy and mass alone here (without also considering the latter it in relation to bullet diameter) and you need to shoot a 150ies grn 270 bullet, or a 160 grn 7mm to match the 6.5 on these parameters.
So a 140 grn 6.5 is capable of pretty decent penetration, even in soft point lead designs, and of quite decent aerodynamics too, is shaped for it.

I always found this table informative, but do note that i think these numbers are calculated on classic cup and core designs mainly, and not partition, or bonded, or non lead solids.
