A .25 for '25

I'm using 7.5 twist in 25 Creedmoor, no issues.
Inbound 25x47L will also be 7.5 twist.
Running both Sierra 131MK and Berger 135 LRHT.

That should be great. I've got a 7 and 7.5. They both shoot the 131's, 128 eldx, 134eldm, and 135 TMK pretty well.

Glad to hear it….. enjoy the new toy when it arrives. Don’t worry about all the barrel burning stuff….. unless you are doing lots of target work it will last for years….. and if you are reloading then you can make rounds to suit your needs. I push 75g vmax at fox’s … like a laser!

What powder and grains are you using for these please? Thanks.👍

That makes for a depressing read considering i keep getting an itch for a .257 Weatherby  .

Not being a target shooter i can look on rifle barrels like i do tyres for my Jeep. They are consumables to be replaced when worn out. That is why God created Gunsmiths. :)
Did you buy one yet Yorkie.
I watched a very nice American made Weatherby 257 Magnum at Brock & Norris that they’d had for a while and after giving everyone else a chance I swooped in and made an offer which they accepted.
Lovely rifle for turning foxes inside out.
An American Airman who was retiring from RAF Fairford and going to live in Aus talked it out of me.
Another I should have kept.

Scratch that itch. I have (and mostly use 6.5x55) but the .257 Weatherby is in a different league and never fails to make me smile,

Hi Ken.
No i have not got one. I have a custom 25-06 that does not see as much use as it could do. I still have the itch for a .257 so will see what the future holds. I have another itch for a .22 Creedmoor but that is another story.

Hi Hambone.
The itch is still there, but as i said to Kenbro, i have an expensive 25-06 that needs to see more outings.

When it come to rifles and calibres though, i have more itches than a fat labrador with eczema.

I really like the Swede. My first rifle was a Tikka 690 in 6.5x55, bought with my pistol money from Gov't. Took my first Deer with it.

Had a spell of using one when my Grandfather's 7x57 started opening its groups (should have rebarreled it, but didn't). I still don't know why I sold the 25 but just bought my last rifle, a plain 25-06 again. No mod, a bit of recoil but does the job on Fallow using Sako 117gr. Suppose I will have to give the Nosler copper jobs a go soon as I no longer reload and they seem to be the cheapest.
