Anyone else finding things incredibly slow tonight?

It's normally around ~6-7GB (but it's got other parameters logged too).
I have to admit... I only read one in every two.I hope you read line by line

The Robots section isn’t the problem, it’s the very large number of ‘guests’ (15k+ which actually are ‘bots’) all downloading and using up the server’s resources.
It looks as though the problem could be Brazil and mainly South American countries have been ‘infected’ and between them they all turn on a target, i.e. us, or any of the sites around the world. It looks like it wants information (AI) as opposed to downright DDoS because it lasts 30 minutes or so and then starts on someone else, but who knows.
If it keeps happening we might end up temporarily blocking whole countries until it’s stopped.

They have swapped to having South American plus other countrys too. Very irritating. There are other options available, like Cloudfare, but these have problems too (one mode of failure etc.).
Resurrecting this old post, loading the site on my iPad using Safari had ground to and absolute snail’s pace. As @finbar reported a while back, my beard grows faster too! Just gone into Safari settings and deleted history et al, and it’s back to being as speedy as ever.
Posted if others are find themselves in a similar position.
Got me wondering whether @csl is still here as he’d be the normal POC for such issues, or is it @Charlie or @Community Team I now need to ask please?

Mine is interminably slow today, has the server been changed? All my other sites that I watch are normal speed and I am on a glass fibre connection.

For clarity, yes, please contact me on matters like this in the future. The intermittent slowness is again down to a huge number of bots/crawlers and unrefined AI training. We have discussed this in the past and if additional measures to stop the site slowing like this occasionally (e.g. "are you human" checks) are worth the nuisance in the round for day-to-day use. We are working on a long-term solution that will hopefully reduce the occasional slow periods without being onerous for actual users.
