I bought a new barrel on my Sauer 202 in 6XC......and all I can say that's it's extremely accurate and easy on the shoulder, factory ammo and brass is available from Norma and it's very straight forward to form other brass from 22-250 if you want to. It became one of my favourite right away. By the way 22-250 and 6XC have never had any feeding issues that I know of.....

This is a 4 shot group at 100 metres with 2.5-10x56 S&B. Norma Factory ammo 105gr, bullet.

If i ever get sick of the 6.5x47 and .284 Win I would look at re barreling the 47 to 6XC and .284 to 6.5/284.

I looked at just about every 6mm cartridge, after spending an age reading up on the various cartridges , I'm having the rebarrel done in good old 243 .
Factory brass for 6xc is in the £100+ bracket for 50(Norma)
6mm creedmoor has the same case capacity as a 243 Lapua case .
In the end whatever small advantages there were ,weren't enough to make me change (well not this time , maybe next time ).

Unless you like the idea of fire forming and feed problems,
I would opt for the 6x47 Lap or a 243.

Better still a 6.5 x 47

I use a 6*47 Lapua and can vouch for it. Very good for everything up to Fallow and exceptionally accurate. Mine is a 10 twist as it started life as a foxing gun, but now promoted to deer. 100 grain Sierra SPT at 3200 fps and that's not even up to pressure. If you want to use longer bullets you will need 8.5 twist.

First 6 rounds load development was less than a inch at 395 yards other day when dialed scope in . Hope 300 wsm barrel performs the same
