BASC Interpretation of yesterday's speech & Stalking

Should go down well as a ‘Good Reason’ on the next application for a duplicate calibre - “in case the rozzers seize the other one”.

“In case an overzealous rozzer with no common sense seizes one” should definitely suffice

In reality everyone should have at least for rifles conditioned for deer for this sort of scenario

Forestry England do not own it all, ... some companies have been operating under growing timber protection, and if the stalker / contractor / culler, whatever you want to term him or her is named on documentation from the owners of the forest in question, as a key worker engaged in such protection ...... rack them & stack them, just have plenty of freezer space.:tiphat:
Agree I've been on our forestry land and other la d on behalf of the forestry almost since the lockdown came in with the relevant paperwork in place our forestry management companies stopped the stalking for a while until they had drafted the correct paperwork.and then it was all systems go in fact they it seemd whilst it was quiet pushed for more culling on other property

If a constable requires you to surrender your firearm, you have no reason to refuse, unless of course you want to prolong things till the AR vehicle turns up.
Finn i think the police officer to ask for your firearms has to be firearms trained not any old plod can ask for your guns or even to look at them in may be wrong and also i dont think by law you need to carry your ticket either pnc soon tells them who your are and what you have i got stopped in a work vehicle in london and had a check run on me and it flagged up accross the screen fac holder

It applies to any Constable.

You don’t have to carry your FAC but if you fail to produce it when requested while in possession of firearms they can be seized:

2)If a person upon whom a demand is made under this section fails to produce the certificate [F2or document] or to permit the constable to read it, or to show that he is entitled by virtue of this Act to have the firearm, ammunition or shot gun in his possession without holding a certificate, the constable may seize and detain the firearm, ammunition or shot gun and may require the person to declare to him immediately his name and address.

Have a read of the relevant sections of the 1968 Act and in particular Section 48

340 posts on this subject.
FLO permissions, incident numbers, permissions off MP`s. Police seizing guns.
Is this England or have we morphed into some futuristic Police Gestapo Stasi state.
Covid 19 is serious but we all seem to have gone into pandemic panic mode.
Stay alert
BTW thank you to all those on here still working.

If WWII happened today...

Can I have more clarity on the “Your country needs you” slogan, it’s too ambiguous

Why aren’t you doing enough to prevent these air raids?
Does the siren apply to everyone?
There are only male and female toilets in the air raid shelter and I don’t identify as either.
This respirator haversack has a leather strap and I’m a vegan.
Why can't I have almond milk on my ration card
I find the term “blackout” offensive.
I find the lack of colour options within military uniforms oppressive.
Why didn’t we have stockpiles of Hurricanes at the start of this conflict?
Where are these Spitfire things you promised?
Stop messing about with that bloody German typewriter, we don't speak German.
Can I shoot the enemy in the head (sorry admin)?
I could go on...

Tally Ho chaps and chapesses

It stands to reason why the police basc ngo whoever keep giving out mixed messages! its to keep the sheep spooked so they will keep returning to the flock for answers,as they will allways question everything and think that they can turn to the people they think (foolhardingly)that the police basc ngo etc are in charge when really all they are doing is providing a service ! and at its best is a useless one at that.

it's blame, who will take the blame, who can take the blame, bla(me) bla(me) bla(me)...

"....to hell in a handcart" and "....****-up in a brewery" both come to mind in terms of this country's governance at a local and national level. It beggars believe that in 2020, there are those drunk on controlling, those drunk in control and those who couldn't give a toss either way. Control seems to be the common denominator here.

Control is a surrogate for power and prestige but most of all - money.

Oooo, well. People seem to have u turned of recent, when us people using COMMON sense, mixed with the guidance and from our FLD were getting slated for going out and 'save lives' and 'what happens if you cut yourself because that clearly wouldn't happen at home'... The few of us that actually did crack on under guidance and legislation were literally at the mercy of the sd, making me for one, not bother posting in the end because it wasn't worth it, to the point of getting pm's from the site staff... If you had used this common sense before you still wouldn't be arguing about it   and for what it's worth, the only cop who pulled me asked if I'd shot anything worth eating  (get on with him rather well lol). Im off out gents, keep arguing and il laugh at the reponses to this later :D

Have we no active policeman on this forum what is there opinion of the matter

Here's the thing. Not afraid of retribution.

I am a recently retired Police Officer but (along with many other recently retired) have been asked to go back and help out with the CV19 drama. I don't want to. I have moved away to the country. My wife is a Nurse and is daily putting her neck on the line with every other front line worker. However, I have put my papers in to return to the fray, and await a re-start date: because it's the only thing to do.

It saddens me to see so many derogatory comments on this forum about "Plod", "Rozzer" and the like. Ask yourself this. Would you refer to a Police Officer in those terms if you were talking to him/her face-to-face? I suspect not. Keyboard warriors.

In regard to the current shooting/lockdown crisis. Lord knows it is not easy for anyone - the advice is complicated, fluid and ambiguous. Most (and I say most) Police Officers will try and interpret these rule/regulations/guidance with good old fashioned British common sense. I hope that the same can be said for the shooting community (sometimes the Plod/Rozzers and Shooting community are one and the same).

Given the change in HMG advice last week; I would have happily deployed last Wednesday with a rifle. God knows I want to. However, my GD is still closed for business and I cannot ethically dispose of any carcase, so I choose not to go.

For those of you who find that they can deploy, I wish you "Waidman's Heil".

Guidance from FLD’s?,Think that means repeating what central Government puts out, FLD’s have no powers to modify such, or dispense “PERMISSION” those who were stalking or rather “Culling” under specific rules such as “Protection of growing timber” Were out within guidelines from HM Government, not some emanation from a fiefdom.

OH, And the term “Plod” has been and will still be used by many, it is a historic description

Would you refer to a Police Officer in those terms if you were talking to him/her face-to-face?
You utterly (perhaps deliberately) miss the point. Plenty of historic descriptions that are not acceptable in polite society.
You crack on hiding behind your keyboard.
