Just wondering what people opinions are on the best high top walking boots.
Been looking at the MEINDL DOVRE EXTREME GTX but open to suggestion.

Many thanks

Have 3 pairs of Meindl including the Dovre Extreme that I have had for 7 years, still perfect, no leaks no issues, I have walked many a mile on open hill in Scotland in them. I also have the mid boot and the shoes all great products

I recently bought a pair of meindl islands despite being warned off the brand by some disgruntled users.
I’ve only had them 6 months or so, but they’re great. Chuffed to bits with them and I’m sure they will last.

Will have plenty stock for the Scone Game Fair at month end 🥾

Meindl sadly not the boot they used to be. I've had 2 pairs and wouldn't have another (and that's not even the really bad very recent ones where the soles were falling off)!

I'm on my second pair of Meindl Dovres in 18 months. The glue started to let go on the first pair within a fortnight. Took them back and got them replaced. Second pair and now going the same way. Won't be buying again.
Next boots will be Altberg Raby or Barningham.

UK made in Richmond, Yorkshire and if you have fitting issues they'll do a custom fit if you visit the factory.

I bought a pair of Grisport Gamekeeper boots after reading and watching several reviews, and have been shocked how good they are
Very comfortable, waterproof, well made and warm for around £150, can't go wrong.
You can get them for £120 if shop around personally I won’t buy hi end brands any more as the quality is shoddy at best don’t be draw in by beaned names.

I bought a pair of Zamberlan boots last autumn. They have withstood a winter of beating, shooting, keepering, stalking and general outdoor life. The first thing I noticed in the field was the grip on wet slopes, brilliant ! Waterproofing and comfort have been great.

I'm lucky that my current Meindls (my 4th pair) bought 2019 are as good as the older ones but they have had issues the past 4 or 5 years. Of the professionals on the hill a lot of the guys have gone over to Crispi. For the money the Grisport get good reviews and a season in @JH83 likes his

i have altbergs for the last 4 years, circa 38 days beating per season plus stalking.
they are great having 8 width fittings.
