Best/most accurate .22 rimfire?

Bruno mod 5 I've never had a more accurate 22 rimfire I literally bought it out of the scrap bin from a local gun smith and used and abused it for 15 years going through thousands of rounds it was I believe 1989 rifle. Sorry I haven’t found a new one better or on par .
A friend has one and yes, it is a superb rifle.

I've got two 452s and American and a varmint 16". Both will shoot 1" at 100yards with eley subs if I do my part on a calm day. They are older rifles and I've fitted both with trigger kits. If I fancied something different it would have to be an anchutz or maybe the hw66

Evening all,

So what's the best .22 or most accurate. 22 rimfire bolt action rifle that you can buy? Money's no obligation. Mainly going to be used for lamping/NV work on rabbits with some pigeon/crows through the day. I've currently got a anshutz 14 something but it's getting old and needs a dew repairs... what would you replace it with or would you buy again? Also what ammo would you pair with it?

Thanks for any suggestions, cheers
The action of a s/a is quite noisy- so if you use subsonics and a moderator to be as quiet as possible, that advantage is gone if you opt for a s/a.

The most accurate .22lr is like an opinion , anyone that has one has the only one that’s worth anything and anyone else’s is second best.
Also the specific brand can vary in accuracy, I’ve seen one CZ shoot raggedy holes and another CZ that shot no better than 1” groups after trying numerous types of ammunition.

So I guess you get “Monday morning/Friday afternoon” syndrome in firearms as well.

I love my cz 455 and it does everything I want and outshoots most.

Accuracy wise it's got to be my old BSA martini international, that thing was an absolute unit of a rifle. Also felt like you were in battle against the zulus as a teenager when loading it.

I am a bit late to this July 2024 started thread but if I had my time again I'd get exactly what I did use (or what is still current) which would be a .22LR BRNO or its now CZ direct successor. None more accurate for the £££ that you pay. And already screw cut some of them. Indeed best value of all is probably one that is secondhand and you can ask the seller for a sample grouping target?
