Cerakote colour suggestions and examples

Dave Wylde is the dogs doodas! His paintwork is immaculate. Currently got an order in for one of his AR15s in Midnight Bronze and Armor Black

Had my T3 done in titanium by Spartan Refinishing, fantastic work.

Sprayed my Remington 700 with it about five years ago, a couple of bits have become a bit worn on a barrel and could do with a touch up, but I might just go for a new colour 👍
Good stuff
That’s interesting.

I have a very shiny stainless barrel, currently wrapped in camo vet wrap (which isn’t ideal because it absorbs water). I was thinking of getting it ceracoted. What are the alternatives?

I just find it hard to stomach £200 or so for what is basically 2 pack polyurethane paint. It is a time consuming job to do cerakote well so fully understand how it costs what it does though.

As already suggested, alternative is DIY spray paint. Can't go wrong, especially on a stainless rifle. I've got a stainless T3 that probably needs the OD green treatment when I get the inclination.

Funny thing is I've spent a fortune on a compressor and spray gun etc!

Got to say I think £200 is good value - the time, cleaning consumables, stencils, oven time etc quickly mounts up, not mentioning the paint. I'm pretty handy at most things (also have a Hvlp sprayer at home) but after seeing the finish of pros like Dave Wylde, it would take many poorly-executed project to get to anything respectable. Ultimately , there's no beating the toughness of cerakote

So I’ve just done my stainless barrel with the NFM EC paint.

Not quite what I expected, and I’m worried I’ve done something wrong.

First, there are areas where it’s come up a different colour - paler than the rest. This is 48 hours after spraying.

Second, it seems very fragile - it scratches as soon as look at it. Doesn’t seem like it would last long in the field.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I assume that it's down to the surface prep and paint quality. Basic 1k spraypaint isn't the most durable.

Is 'Bazooka Pink' your choice of colour? :p

If I remember correctly, I have mine three coats, it will wear off/ scratch but it's easy to give it a top up spray on the area affected.
I will get a photo of my barrel with a proper camera rather than the crap camera on this tablet for you.

I like the Armour flat black , H-400 J,J green , Brown flat earth ,H-293/vortex-bronze real nice, but now do my own in Krylon as it seems to hold up the same as in chips but far cheaper .
