Here is what you declare on page 13, its not just a form its a legal declaration.i dont see it as risking me certificate, and im not hiding anything, same as im not going to un necessary bother or cost to provide information they already have, and either way will check up on,
and im not trying to be clever, its a genuine reason, im 55 now and cant remember all that **** that has or hasnt happened in the last 40 years, times and dates, im not hiding anything, or accidently leaving something out, its enough hassle and cost as it is with out adding more, and if ever there not happy with my responce they can send my application back as not complete, then and only then will i add and extra step to my renewal prosses,
id like to know more about the license holders who have been prosecuted, for what? not filling a form in properly, FFS
The information I have provided on this form is true and I understand that it is an offence under section 28A(7) of the Firearms Act 1968 to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement for the purpose of procuring the grant or renewal of a certificate, the maximum penalty for which is six months’ imprisonment and/or a fine. I understand that I will be subject to a check of police records and that my details will be held electronically. I understand that if I do not provide the required information my application cannot be processed and will be refused.
Thats what folks get prosecuted for basically an offence under the fraud act. It's the same as not disclosing medical conditions. I used common sense when dealing with these matters. If it was a grant and one minor offence was missed from 30 years ago it would be words of advice. However if five years later you again didnt disclose some sort of action would need to be taken. If you were grant and you had numerous convictions and if they were serious and recent you run the risk of be prosecuted. If your a renewal and you were in bother in the last five years and you failed to disclose you would be getting an interview re your suitability. Fld are looking for any excuse to reduce the amount of holders. If you fail to disclose especially if you have had words of advice previously you will be a gem for them.
Folk come on here for advice they dont want to hear "well this what i do ive done it for years they done nothing its only form they have my records i pay enough etc etc". They want correct advice.
