There has been a massive turnaround in the situation at Cumbria Firearms Department.

They said they were going to sort it and they have.

New manager and loads of new staff.

I've just had a two week turnaround for a variation.

Full communication throughout the process.

I am picking up my new rifle tomorrow.

That's because they know you will kick up a stink 🤣
Could this improvement be due to an increased budget since the increase in fees?
Conor's post of 22nd May on this forum did mention this was a possibility. ;)

"The police forces that have provided assurances to BASC on the resourcing of firearms licensing departments are:

Cheshire
Cumbria
Derbyshire
Dorset
Dyfed Powys
Essex
Gloucestershire
Hampshire
Kent
Lancashire
Norfolk
Northumbria
North Yorkshire
Staffordshire
Suffolk
Surrey
West Mercia

We live in hope, submitted a new application on Friday last week for Suffolk... BASC confirmed with me that I shouldn't expect much change from their initial report earlier this year in terms of turnaround, but perhaps if everything goes well I'll be in luck for a certificate before the end of 2025.
