Any recommendations for dog trackers,are there any shops selling tracking collars,farming looks good but expensive

I have recently bought the Garmin Alpha 200i k/k 5 Bundle, ridiculously high priced but cheaper then buying a new dog. Never needed one before but the most recent GWP I have has a very high prey drive and will hunt on and goes deaf to the call.

Garmin are the way to go, not cheap by far but I’ve not been anywhere where mines not worked yet.

Nope you buy a garmin you own it, no monthly fee, turn the collar on and the handset, let them pair and off you go.

Hi I bought mine of Deer Tracking Service, make sure you get one that is licensed for the U.K. as I have read that imported ones can get locked if you up date the software. I had a free 12 month subscription to the Garmin maps, so I can download google map type view of the areas I hunt, so you get more definition , save the downloaded maps to the SD card in the handset, maps are yours forever . If you hunt an area you have not downloaded , you get a basic OS type map to view so still works to find your dog.

Sport dog also do one as well, think it has a 12 mile range on it?? I have one and I like it. It gets used regularly and if there’s any problem with anything they just replace the issue and you just update it on a pc when required. It’s pricey but good and I run 3 collars at the same time. It’s saved me hours of waiting for my dog this year that’s for sure and it’s good in pre thicket and thicket forestry when you are tracking a shot animal

Garmin is the way to go, you pay for what you get, I have had others in the past and wouldn't use anything else now, regular updates for collar and handset as well as maps from Garmin website.
I have a number of a distributor who has supplied all our members, just give me a PM and I will pass it on.

if your going the garmin route the alpha 200 has a monthly subscription for the inreach facility which basically has satalite comms in case of emergency a nice feature for lone working or doing trips abroad, the atemos 50-100 does not have this feature but the range of the unit has slightly more than the 200 in real terms of use, hope this helps wayne.

I originally tried buying the 100 but none in stock at the time. however i like the ability to down load maps onto the 200 via Wifi, the only laptop I have is a work one and I can’t download apps onto that so has worked out for the best for me thankfully.
