Driven Boar - things you do/don't find useful

Thick fleece neck warmer that you can pull up over your face.

Seeland pac boots with a liner.

Thermal spotter

Volume adjustable hearing protection (a lot of these countries don't allow moderators)

Not useful:

Anything that clanks, tings, rattles etc.

You want to be as quiet as possible when going to, climbing in and being on your stand. And then be a bit quieter.

Boar are highly intelligent and will very quickly pinpoint which stands in their woods are occupied.

Stillness and silence are essential if you want something to come your way.

Very Useful:

A well trained Draahter that will go out into the woods and encourage boar to come to you. A well trained one will circle out like a sheepdog and drive boar and deer back towards their master. Kind of improves the odds.

The guy’s been back from his trip for over 2 months?

So what happened @JMikeyH?
Sick as a dog with something I picked up the week before in Turkey and spent most of it contemplating what a German hospital would be like from my hotel room whilst drinking plenty of some traditional "medication" (some kind of herb infused spirit not dissimilar from Jagermeister), too ill to shoot I attempted to stand with a chap on the drive but made it around an hour before fever and shakes got too much. Never saw a pig.

Doesn't make a very good write-up, I think you'll agree

This has provoked instant painful memories of a life-threatening food poisoning, from a frikadellen during a barbecue in the forest post drives.
