Dual Purpose Scope Advice

I have a Zeiss 6-24x56FL Ret 43 (mil dot) with ASV+ elevation only. I've stalked in the morning, shot a roe buck, hung it in a fly net and headed to Bisley to shoot 200-600 yards in informal competition and more than held my own. Only thing I'd change is to get illuminated but couldn't find at the time. With that I would truly have one does all.

Look at the bushnell forge. I'm using a 4.5-27 I think it is in FFP. Rabbits at 50, targets far out. Nice glass, turrets are bob on, zero stop and Christmas tree ret that gives an extra 40moa or so. Theres enough elevation in it to get my 223 over 1000 (that's a lot of elevation) it also works well with a night vision add on. Worth a look

4-16x50
Zero stop elevation
Mildot
FFP

Personally I went through this and chose a sightron siii 6-24x50 ir moa2 reticule
Brilliant scopes
Also use the 8-32 version on a different rifle
Little high if short range woodland is likely but 8x is very useable

I'm using March 3-24 FFP with the FML reticle. Works as a tapered duplex at 3x, and as a "mildot" reticle once you get past about 8x.
Problem is, once you buy one, the rest of the cabinet looks average.

I’m looking fir a scope. Something dual purpose for use deer stalking / Foxing but also long range gong shooting so an ability to dial.

Any recommendations?
Its a big ask for scope stalking and long range and I opted for fine reticules with illumination and can recomend Sightron
, Delta and optisan. The reticules on normal stalking scopes are just too thick for range or varminting work and fine rets disappear in poor light or against dark backgrounds. An illuminated fine ret is the answer 6 to 8 times for stalking and foxing and as high as you like for the range and varmints. The fine ret. lends itself well for first focal plane scopes which is another plus point.

I have a Swarovski z6i 3-18x50 that’s a heck of a scope. The reticule is nice and fine and the glass is perfect along with the illumination it’s a great all round hunting scope. That paired with the ballistic turret make it an option for some targets but not a massive amount of elevation adjustment. I also have a ZEISS v6 5-30x50 that I would consider a much more dual purpose scope. Some of the best glass I’ve ever used male it a good hunting option but this scope also has real turrets with a good range of adjustment and really nice positive clicks. It’s not an out and out range scope or a proper hunting scope but I’d definitely say its a great dual purpose option.

For a long range allrounder you will struggle to beat a nightforce NXS, fairly cheap second hand now, Swarovski are obviously fantastic for optical clarification but the ballistic turret will only give me 530m on my Blaser 30.06 that’s in my opinion, never used Zeiss so cant comment
