I have had multiple clients have it happen.
To the extent that I’m really very happy with my hazel rods tied with paracord…
No excuses!
I have reasons though, for both misses and bad shots -
Too rushed
Too keen
Out of breath
Not stable enough
Distracted
Complacent
Snatched trigger
Or a combination of the above
I would say virtually all of the shots I've missed, or misplaced, have been attributable to the above. I can pretty much guarantee the root cause has been me

Yesterday I missed a buck at 120m of a bipod prone. Clean miss. In my defence it was very rushed as the deer was charging around like a mad thing and only stopped for a second. Next shot I killed a deer cleanly at 340m of sticks go figure (long story but it was a fenced enclosure forestry cull)
A better one Ive heard is “I don’t miss”
As an old keeper once told me
“ there’s them who miss and them who lie everyone misses”
All of this mainly caused by buck fever and not actually getting comfortable for a shot.No excuses!

Its a little bit better when its only you and the deer who runs off laughing its slighly more embaressing when its in front of someone who can shoot!

So it starts...I think thats a silly comment and should have been phrased :
"My man bun came loose and my wavy hair got in the way of the scope, also I needed to check my nail polish as I had a little dirt on it ..and that meant I pulled the shot"

Look I have a Creedmoor and sadly lack the capacity to grow a man bun!So it starts...I think thats a silly comment and should have been phrased :
