Favorite fox rifle

My usual fox rifle is an H-S precision actioned custom 204 by Mike Norris, but recently I've been using my Sako A11 243 with either a lamp or Pard 007V. It's a lovely old rifle and shoots brilliantly.

The vast majority of my foxes are shot at under 200 yards

My favourite is this old Annie in .22 Hornet, I love tripping them up nice and close with this little darling, such a sweet little round to shoot, it's almost like using the childhood peashooters we had as kids... I used to use moistened bog roll in mine as you got better obturation...

Moistened bog roll for in the peashooter or the Anschutz? I might be missing a trick perhaps.

Moistened bog roll for the pea shooter gave me cloverleaf groups on the artexed ceiling in my bedroom, also good for close-range fly control... Looking back I started young with this hunting game :-|

My favourite foxing rifle is my 204. I have owned a few 204 rifles since they came out 20 years ago.
I had a Ruger varmint in 220 swift in pre moderator days before that which was a great rifle.
I shot a lot of foxes with that Ruger but my hearing has suffered as a result.
Here is my current 204

Smart bit of kit.
My brother still has a Ruger MK2 Varmint in .220 Swift, and it's still shooting as well as ever, I used it a couple of seasons ago and shot a dog fox at just under 400 yards of quad sticks, I only put the rifle up to get a look at him sitting watching us in the edge of a game strip, but it was so steady and solid I took the shot :fox:
