Glasgow/West Scotland

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me what the average time frame for grant of a shotgun certificate is in the Glasgow/West sector? I know they'll be busy due to people wanting grants/renewals due to price increase next week.

How long is a piece of string
Every force is the same just now , completely unpredictable.

Mine took 2 months where it usually took 2 weeks
Guy I know has waited over a year .

That’s East Scotland but as I say , they are all the same .

Glasgow/West has the best time frame as far as I am aware for the likes of variations. Longest I've had to wait was 4 days and that was during COVID.

For the grant I'm sure they gave a timeframe when I applied and it came within 3 days of that timeframe. I think from memory it was 12 weeks

I was a strange case as I went away for work in the middle of my application but if you took that delay out I'd say 6 to 8 weeks (maybe a bit less)? For co terminous FAC and SGC. They were spot on. Since moving to the east, they have also been great.

This has also been my experience with that department

Just had a variation done in Aberdeenshire took 3 weeks no issues, they really are very good over here, when you compare the standards to the rest of the UK we are in pretty good position.
