Having spent years fighting with cold hands in suboptimal conditions, I’ve found Rab Vapour Rise gloves to be the best. Warm, water resistant and allow excellent dexterous trigger control.
They wouldn’t stand up to an infantry-style thrashing and a continual crawling, but for stalking with the occasional crawl they’re perfect.
I do fall back on the old soldier’s technique of carrying a few pairs though. As soon as one pair get wet sodden they’re off and into a warm pocket, replaced by a dry pair. Works well with cheaper more robust leather gloves.
Useful if you run out of ferreting nets but not much else! The one part of your anatomy a Riflemen wishes to preserve feeling in and the glove you suggest has no covering.
Snowbee fingerless mitts when it's not so cold, but you want to cover up the skin from both tell-tale birdlife and insects; warm after being wet too. Not certain they're still available, though...
