Heated socks

Any recommendations for decent fitting heated socks please? Recent convert to heated gilet but I don’t half get cold feet sat in a highseat in this weather! Not something I’ve ever tried before but suspect you need to pay decent money to get something well fitting and durable? Not a clue where to start though!

Layering up (2-3 socks based on weather) with a decent pair of trekking boots or wellies does it for me.

Socks or insoles on here, buy once cry once. I’ve no idea about this but saw someone comment about it elsewhere.

I got these a couple of years back and have been very happy with them.
Nice warm feet when standing around at the clay ground, only negative is I needed to go up a size in boots when wearing them to accommodate the thickness of the socks.

lots of options on Amazon, probably can find them or similar for less money, but get the 7.4volt type.

Use heated socks (and heated soles) many years now. Experience: socks must be made of polyester for breathing and capacity minimum 3.7V, 4000 mAh, 8Wh. Prefer short ones (not skiing type) as when cold one needs another pair of regular socks in addition.
When extremly cold (-10/20) then heated soles and heated socks work well together.
Takes some practise to use heated socks i.e. not too warm, not to cold.
Suppose all heated socks (things) are made in China nowdays. Offered on Amazon etc.

I have been using these nordic mountain sock with Merino wool blend,

Thanks all - very familiar with decent outdoor socks and handwarmers etc from a skiing and ice climbing background but specifically interested in recommendations for brands of heated socks - ideally snug fitting and won't require another pair of boots in a larger size. If the cheapy Amazon ones are anything like the heated gillets then fit will be very random and they'll be very bulky affairs.

I know such things exists for skiing and many of the French instructors swear by them when stood around instructing so maybe I'll go down that route.

As for MTFU comments, Reynauds disease means I really struggle with extremities. No issues when moving around, but sit me in a highseat for an hour in this weather and I'll have fingers and toes that are a deathly colour with no feeling whatsoever.

I’ve got a pair of heated socks (and gloves) from Vulcan. Not cheap but work very well. There’s been some back and forth on a separate thread regarding their website but as far as I can tell it’s the same company as I ordered from.
They were very helpful when I was enquiring about sizing and even said that if the gloves came up too big or small then send them back for a replacement size.
I have no affiliation to Vulcan whatsoever but took a punt on them and couldn’t be happier with the bits I got

Bear with me on this one - in morning put feet in cold bath. Cold as you can get it. Keep feet in there for 5-10 mins. Then dry well, really well, even with talc. Thin socks, thick socks & good boots. I don't know the science but it really works for warm feet for hours.

Think I will give that idea a miss 😂

similar stories as I need the heated gilet as well! I’ve these for my feet, cost a quid or two per use but worth every penny for toasty feet these days!

Insole Foot Warmers - 5, 10 or 30 Pairs - Feet Warmers, 100% natural warmth, Footwarmers as well as Heated Insoles for 8 hours of warm feet, Heat Warmers for shoes https://amzn.eu/d/8seA4gC

Keeping an eye on this thread as well..... being on bisoprolol causes my toes to turn an interesting shade of blue as well, horrible stuff to take, but keeps my AF in some sort of order. Last few days of -5C mornings just makes me want to hibernate!

Sounds like a recipe for chilblains to me!

Chilblains are a bar-stard! Now had them for the last two years used hot socks, inner soles, over socks, heated socks nothing worked . Then found out from Doctor that Sudocrem works very well to at soothing the pain and promote skin healing.

Yep - get them too!! Particularly from fell running (cold, wet feet etc). If I change shoes as soon as I stop moving and let my toes warm naturally then I'm ok. Jump in a hot shower and, bejeeeezus, I'm knackered!! Also had them from highseat stuff too mind you. Secret is not to warm too quickly as that's what bursts the blood vessels and causes chilblains (for me).
