Hi all. I'm after a bit of advice. I've got a lithgow arms 17hmr. I'm using hornady vmax. I'm getting loads of misfires. The rim is hit but doesn't go off. If I try them again sometimes they are ok. Anyone help or advise please?
It's only ever had maybe 150 rounds through it

Sounds like a weak strike. Perhaps the firing pin is gummed up with old oil, or rust. If you've got a user manual that shows how to dismantle it, have a go at cleaning it.

I had a Lithgow in .17 HMR.

Nice gun. Didn't have any bad strikes.

Have you tried a different batch of ammo ?

It does sound like a weak pin. Take photos of the rim of good and bad strikes, and those which required a second strike. See how they compare.

As someone has said- you may find cleaning the bolt helps improve the strike pressure.
