Hestra gloves. What is this for?

Having lost one of my Harkila winter gloves I bought some Hestra gloves a year or two ago. Wearing them yesterday I noticed the leather loop on the ring finger of each glove.

Any ideas what it’s for?

I don't know, too far down to prevent wear from a ring. I do know that the gauntlet thing is irritating though. Depending on what jacket I wear trying to get them under or over the sleeve comfortably is a faff.
Apart from that they are a great glove.

Many of us over a certain age will remember mitts connected via a cord to ones winter coat.
:old:
They had to attach the cord somewhere.

I really do love my Hestra’s. When its cold and you want warm hands there is nothing better. We don’t often though get in cold enough in the UK.

My wife suffers with very cold hands (and heart but that is another story).

Looking for a decent (read expensive) pair of gloves I looked into Hestra.

They arrived yesterday.
