Hooky eBay Atlas bipod review

No, that one doesn't. Never found it a problem though, to be honest. Fits straight onto a standard screw stud. Fleabay has umpteen different ones though

I have the real atlas and the Hooky, the Hooky has an issue with the small pin holding the foot on, but the Atlas has a bearing holding the foot on. I have spent an hour or so looking for an extended foot off my atlas as the bearing doesn't hold, other than the clamp they both seam to me to do the same job, but the price is miles apart. your choice

My hooky did that too and I managed to fix it so the stud pops out a bit further... I can't remember how looking at it but it took all of a couple of minutes...might have been as simple as tightening the sprung socket screw on the back of the foot that holds the stud in.

This is the one I bought a few months back ACI Rifle Bipod with LT271 QD Mount | eBay

couldnt be happier for the price. It did require a dab of Loctite on one screw but that's it.

Pas I said above, drop of locktite sorted that on mine. I've had it next to a friends genuine atlas and although not as quality it's definitely nowhere near 20% worse which is all it cost compared to his.

I bought the standard leg one of these in March/April - not quite as well made as the first one I bought last year which actually had Atlas stamped on the hinge bracket but certainly good enough. Delivery from China was less than a fortnight... must've caught the fast boat.

The cunning plan at some point, is to replace the legs on a Harris with the legs from one of these.... just needs a backing plate to hold the legs proud enough to allow the press lock stud to clear the leg allowing the legs to swivel forward and back. I feel the high fixing of the Atlas is it's weakest point putting the centre of gravity too high.... ie you need a pic rail on the underside of the stock then the Atlas fixes to that. Stick a pair of the easily adjustable legs on a stud fitting Harris would give a wider more stable base without sacrificing anything to the COG.
