I’ve got a hole in my heart!!! RIP Ella xxx

I’m sad to be writing this but today I lost my best friend Ella.
She was a beautiful black cocker spaniel that had been by my side for 14.5 years.
She was loyal, if we were all out for a walk and I had to pop in a shop or to the dog bin she would stop and watch/wait until I returned.
She would sit on my feet, waiting for me to make a fuss of her or give her a treat!
Ella literally use to come everywhere with me and our family! Holidays, visiting friends and family, going to shows etc.
I’m here at home right now and it’s like my whole world has fallen from beneath me.
Both my wife and son are in bits as she was also their best friend.

I know that lots of you guys here have been through this before, it’s unbelievable how many things that you miss that actually use to annoy me.
I would give anything to hear her howl for her food, or the patter of her footsteps on the floor, or justify to have 1 more retrieve with her!
I will miss you forever my little one xx

Sorry for your loss never gets any easier but think of the joy she brought to you all.
Those times you spent together are moments to think about the good and bad.
Rubbing your hands over the cockers shaped skull are still missed by me and the wife many years later.

Sorry to hear this, it’s never easy, our old spaniel is now 12, she’s going blind, slightly deaf and a tad senile but I wouldn’t be without her, I dread the day she goes

Count me in on your thoughts, Chip is 10 nearly lost him last year with weeks of hand feeding drinking water through a syringe and very little sleep.

As Andy said it is a great loss so thinking of you and your loyal friend.

My condolences, I lost my best friend in July, he’d been diagnosed with a heart disease, I had the whole week with him, called him in his dinner and found him on the patio, 15’ from were he was born.

Thanks for all your kind words, definitely a tough time. My son is 10 and he hasn’t experienced a time without her!
It probably hurts more seeing him so upset.
Like a couple of best mates playing together at times!
