Identify this chap

That Sir, is what the old keeper I grew up knowing would have called a 'Spadger-Ork' ;) A couple of years back I had one dismembering and eating a great tit about 18" from my left ear whilst I was sitting in a hedge (cammo jacket and face veil on) waiting for pigeons on a flight line. It was amazing how gory the noises were

Sparrow hawk.
Murdering little....
Had it's big cousin the gos try and grab a squirrel right beside me Friday. It never saw me.

I get them quite regularly in the garden taking sparrows out of the bird bath. Great to see- we also have an abundance of sparrows. 👍

I netted this rascal a few years ago, just after it ate yet another of my goldies - when I saw it had a damaged eye. Bathed it with cotton wool and water and suddenly the eye popped open - quite the most brilliant eye I have ever seen - defo the eye of a killer. As a thank you the bugger ate my goldies and sparrows for several more years! The children and grandchildren of old “one eye” continue to wreak such havoc but my god what a master of the air!
