Marlin Dark lever action rifles

I recently got to shoot a lever action rifle at the club I’m in and I’m thinking of getting one, I saw the marlin dark but I can’t seem to find any in the country. I heard they’re all on back order but nobody can say when there’ll be anymore delivered. Does anyone on here know anything about it?

What calibre? 45/70 is a lot more common than 30/30 if you want it for deer.
The original dark series pop up on gun trader occasionally, there’s a 45/70 on there now.
The newer releases tend to come up when someone’s ordered one and no longer wants it. I was told 7-9month wait in both Henry Model X and Marlins, before I picked my 336 up second hand.

I was once told only 2 336 Darks of the original series were imported into the UK, one was up for sale about 6-12 months ago.

i'm not sure about new deliverys buy i have a 45/70 one with moderator and i love it!

it doesn't half trigger fudds

I seriously looked at the 30/30 a few years ago when they came out but the combination of chambering and very short barrel made it only suitable for cwd and muntjac (1700ft lbs was never going to happen), so instead I cut 10” off my 308 barrel and turned that into my woodland gun!

Nice looking rifle tho.

Great rifles, I have one in 45/70, one of the last Remlins before Ruger took over. Had it checked out and all 100% after comments about assembly issues. It shoots better than me so keep looking and good luck finding one.

I was in same boat as you. Found one second hand did the deal, arranged to pick it up and he sold it! Couldn't find one for love nor money after that. Eventually found a new one just sitting on a shef at a shop a couple hours away. They are about. Can't remember which shop it was, but they said they had a good amount on order and they kept trickling through.
