Meindl Dovre leaking

Over the past decade I have had 3 pairs of Meindl Dovre Extreme and each and every one of them has ended up leaking after 2 to 3 years. I wear them during the Winter both picking up and stalking in the hills here in Ireland. I look after them reasonably well and had them fitted by the retailer in the first instance so they fit me as well. While they are waterproof they are the best I could hope for on the hills and woods. Am I the only one who has this problem.

Now due to a very wet foot I need to change my boots and I really do not think I will go back to Meindl. Has anyone has any experience of the Bandeccouse boots.

I had the same issue with Meindle so sent them back. According to them my boots didn’t fit me properly which resulted in my toes wearing a hole through the gore tex membrane. Once punctured the membrane can’t be repaired, so a wet foot.

There have been a good number of threads on this subject in the last couple of months, I think that the consensus is that Meindl construction/ materials perhaps isn't what it once was. Crispi boots and Brand eccosse get good reviews. Also , army issue Haix cold weather brown leather boots are a pretty good option if the budget is a limit.

I was told by the shop I bought them in to wash them out inside with soapy water at least once a season to stop the goretex getting clogged and leaking. Id it usually twice per season.

I'm on my third pair and none have ever leaked. I had Lowa's before but they weren't as comfortable. My current pair are four years old but I gather they are getting more returns in the past couple of years than normal.
