The intention as I understand it is that the buyer would need to show their FAC to purchase, much like primers and similar to the purchase of shotgun cartridges.
Continued possession would be contingent on continued holding of FAC.
So full of background checks just easier as it's be at point of sale.

I’m sure you are right….but I’m not sure that level of detailed explanation will find its way into the mainstream media reporting.

wish they would hurry up ive got a .243 wildlcat sat here and its multi calibre but i'm tied to advertise it as a .243 i can only sell it as such

Just have it changed as ‘universal’ by FEO. The mod slots I have in my FAC are universal, and the mods I have are stated ‘up to largest calibre’ of that mod can be capable of.

I tell you what you lot make hard work of it, instead of going Calaber specific just buy 30 cal problem solved it makes enough naff sound difference, and if you’re worried about the extra few decibels, you really need to sit down and worry about greater things
