Need a dedicated Foxing rifle .223

Always worth considering the high end remingtons, the VSSF. Comes with a HS precision kevlar stock with alloy bedding blocks, long fluted barrels, and the better actions. Hinged floorplate and the ability to quickly top load if there are multiple targets! Trigger might need lightening. Hugely under rated rifle, had one in .223 and it was a tack driver.

Some people like to be different. I bought the vartarg 2nd hand. That's the cartridge it were in. Never seen a practical or tactical for sale. Happy with it and the price. It were a bargain. Ask Steve Kershaw the rifle smith which 20cal he likes best.
Would reckon most Tacs & Pracs don't make it to the second hand shelves, but that's not to make your choice a wrong choice.

I have never heard of a vartarg, what's the ammo cost.
Sadly reloading where I am is not really an option.
I spoke to a couple of chaps from Ireland at the Game Fair a few years ago and mentioned that reloading was not allowed back home. "Sure, but we all do!"

Have a chance to buy an as new blaser R93 in 22-250 less than 100 rounds through it or blaser R93 223 has had a bit more use than the 22-250 and price would reflect that.

As title says I am in need of a foxing rifle, looking for something nice on the eye, I like the look of an anschutz 1771 or Merkel helix explorer or a Sauer.

Not a fan of tikka or Howa so not looking for info on those.

Anyone use either of the above rifles in .223 and if so how are they.
Sauer 100 , 20” barrel , using Hornady varmint express in 55g or geko 56g , absolute tack driver if I do my bit

Have you considered the Schultz & Larsen Legacy? It’s a genuine mini action, switch barrel rifle with two twist rates available in .223. It’s a pleasure to carry and more accurate than I am.
Came here say this and another +1 for S&L - superb rifles.

Give Steve and Louis at Ivythorn sporting a call - they are top lads and will sort you out 👍🏻

I bought a Schmeisser AR-15 SP15 M4FL when they first came out a few years ago and I am still in love with it.
Very accurate, easy to live with and I have yet to find a round it can't use. If you want to add goodies to it, any AR15 accessories fit and it easily knocks charlie over at 200y.1000001936.jpg

Got my .223, was out at my local range at 100m to zero it in. I was using a Pard NV008s, After each shot the scope would lose its focus, took me time after every shot to get it back into focus and even then the picture at 100m was not good, anyone have this issue before?
