NV IR Torch Recommendations

I have an Infiray TD50L NV scope, the IR torch with it is obviously rubbish.

What torches to people recommend? I gather there is a difference with scope needed either LED or laser, I'm not sure of the difference.

It is for foxing so needs to stretch out to 300m.

The NM1 XL, excellent light and the pills are easy to swap.

I also have the Ludicrous Lumens Wraith x3 laser IR, even better in my opinion if you want long range.

I think you'll find it's now the NM1. I use this with both a Sightmark Wraith and various Pards. A very good piece of kit. The PBiR is another good one.

As Skully said the advantage of the NMs is the adjustable power control, very useful.

After chatting to Pete from NVUK I've gone for his style 1 laser IR, a friend recommended their Solaris SRX IR but Pete reckoned I would only need the smaller one. Give it a try

A local chap tested everything with the TD50L, and I mean everything.

The result was...

For most people the Dark Engine ID is best for these scopes...

However if you want the smoothest image possible and still plenty of legs to get to 200+ yards then the Sunnranger Minis are very very good (and that's what the tester settled on):

These essentially do the same job as a very diffused laser, but are much smaller and cheaper with no difference in power output.

Cheers

Thanks Clive, if the one I purchase from Pete doesn’t pan out I’ll give you a call.

A slight digression. Can anyone recommend an IR torch for a Yukon Sightline n450s ?
I've the n470 and there is no need to go for a bells and whistles torch, a t38 or even a T20 will get you as far as you want to go.In fairness the onboard it is sufficient albeit battery hungry .

Thanks, true the onboard ir eats juice ! I’m also aware that is very visible. Charlie has noticed it more than once. However I generally have a happy ending.
