My impression was that you could just sell the Browning you don't like which would give you an empty slot and then buy the Tikka you do like which would fill said slot. As long as you let them know as soon as you sell the Browning and buy the Tikka then that's all good. You're not varying your FAC in any way as it's all the same calibre.

Oh come on! The change from a Browning to a Tikka of the same calibre is so significant that we need the Police to interveine.

Simplifying the law and allowing g 1 for 1 in an easier manner would release a huge amount of Police time to perhaps administrator the law effectively.

It amazes me how many FAC holders haven't read and understood all the conditions and notes on their FAC.
