Pard 007 SP2 4k

I bought one when they came out, I don't think mine is 4k it has the rangefinder on it which is useless because it ranges the turret cap, See no point in it if you cant easily dial in a correction, which is not easy on a scope where you need to remove the caps first, if they had offset the rangefinder and done away with the onboard IR because nearly everyone uses a torch then the unit would be better, the only way I can use it is to tilt it 45 degrees so the rangefinder doesn't hit the turret cap but then your looking at a wonky picture, it has way too much mag, why they do this is beyond me x 1 mag or less would have been perfect. I have several pard products and they seem to promise so much, but deliver very little, With a bit of thought and ask some questions from people who actually shoot, then it might have been a much better product. another one for the unused gadgets draw I think.

I think Pard have rectified this by having the LRF offset now so it fire past a tall turret...at least that's what I gather from the pics

Hmmm.
First venture into IR shooting was a Pard 007 which I like so much I still have and use on respective collars on everything from .22lr, through 6.5x55SE and then .308 - despite having since added a Pard 008P (.17hmr) and more recently a Zulus 520 (.222). Providing you have low base magnification and parallax adjustment on your scope it is a very handy and versatile bit of kit for not much money - pair it with a good IR torch and it will do all you need - except tell you the distance to your quarry…
The more recent Pard iterations seem to have lost their way a bit - but to read that a LRF is blocked by a scope turret does kinda make one think that they are now designed by a committee of non-shooters; a pity really…..

It looks like people have mentioned this, as DVS1 as pointed out, so hopefully it should be better.

Yea, it’s a little confusing with all the different models but the 4k version has only been available hear for the past week.. It’s the one with a detachable IR swappable 850/ 940 and square LRF. Focus wheel on the top not the side. 3840x1260-px sensor I’m sure the image will be the best yet, just hope it has a base mag of 2x or less. Scott country has them for £610 posted next day. Was just waiting for a few positive reviews before ordering.

The PARD is still a very good piece of kit for the price, as the picture in SD's video showed. Any idea of the ranges of the shot and the fox running?
Where it disappears into the wood was over 200 yds. The shot was more 100 yds , around 130 if I remember correctly.

been onto Scott country and they don't even know what the base mag is. There going to contact the importer and get back to me.

I know that Pard is sometimes not exactly accurate about technical specification of their own stuff.
But this is the info from their official webpage.

Thanks for that Dari, let’s hope that’s the case and I’ll buy one as soon as they confirm that and do a review.
