Pard 007 SP2 4k

I have the 2K version I believe, under a year old, I use it with the Hawke 5-30-56 Frontier, I find it clears the Turret cap easily, range finds perfectly, and I can turn the mag to 10 or more without any problems,
much improved on the first 007 , the IR torch is v good at 200 plus as well.
For the price I can't really fault it.

Never ceases to amaze me why they don't have a standard base mag of 1x it would allow shooters much more flexibility. It's almost like they fox the ridiculous idea of lrf being top centre to replace that problem with another problem that wasn't a problem to begin with 🤦🏻

Think of it like this. A higher base mag on the scope add on means you have to use less optical base magnification on the scope itself to get the same size target image, using a lower base magnification allows for more light transmission through the scope into the add on sensor giving better night vision performance.

So the key is to get a day scope with a low starting base magnification , to cover everything . Ideally 2x- 3x to give you the best of all worlds...

Spot on - a cheap Hawke with parallax will serve you well.

Would that work with a Delta Titanium 2-10x50?
Not familiar with that scope - sorry. But if it is mid to lower price range it probably won’t have much in the way of lens coatings which are often the cause of poor results with the Pard - does it have parallax adjustment - not always necessary but it can help?

The new Alpex 4k unit has been out for merely days and already we’re reading of issues - or is that to be expected? I’m ready to take the plunge for my .17 HMR but still not decided on what.

Indeed so.
Pretty much every new device has shown issues be it hard or soft ware soon after launch fanfare. Older and perhaps wiser chaps hang fire a while to let these various “huge improvements in technology” bed in and have resolved any issues before buying…

Absolutely!
Delta titanium scopes are one of the best to use in combination with rear add-ons.
Just make sure it have parallax adjustment.
I am using 2.5-15x50 SF version and it is great.

What kind of issues have you read about it so far?
LRF being blocked by high turrets was an issue with SP 2K version.
4K is slightly modified and we shall see, how it performs.

Now now, can't be sexist like that, could be all manner of discerning rainbow warrior that identify as a light bulb
Actually, the device from that thread identify itself as Alpex 4K. 😁
And there are more and more nightvision devices, that want to identify themselves as 4K something.

But can you use the whole optical magnification range of Minox with add on?
Or are you limited only to basic magnification?
Good question - never really saw the need for high magnification myself but if I get a minute later I will try it, record it and post here.
Watch this space….
