Hi everyone,

Last February we reached out on here asking if anyone would like to help us with a documentary we are producing about pheasant shooting. Since then we were able to connect with one person in the industry who has been invaluable.

The film is about the culture/tradition of pheasant shooting, the conservational value, and the socio-economic and environmental issues it may pose. The film aims to present pheasant shooting straight down the middle (rather than being pro or against) which will include interviews from both shooters and anti-shooters. The documentary aims to start a conversation about shooting and shine a light on the many nuances within the industry. What we’ll not be doing is creating a film which just goes back and forth between pro and anti viewpoints.

There is no client commission behind this film, rather it is a collaboration piece between myself (Gabriel) who is an independent documentary filmmaker interested in wildlife and conservation and Manchester based production company Sound & Colour, which is trying to move into more documentary programming.

We are still looking for participants who can chat about everything to do with shooting. This is a good opportunity to help educate the public about the sport, its importance to the community, and why it's a valued tradition.

If you’d like to see a little teaser and some of the content we have already please check out:

Any guidance or participation would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Gabriel
