Private number plates.

SHOOTER

Was for sale on here some time ago

I was tempted

Really? When did DVLA release double zero plates?
Not quite correct, Ben.
They give a distinct visual indication of those "who have and those who have not".... ... they are a distinct willy waving tool :gheyfight:

I use mine to disguise the age of my car.
The fake bullet holes in the tail gate are more fun 🤣

There's quite a few around here with Gun on their plates which I think is a bit silly as it could attract the wrong person when parked in out of the way places which the type of person that owns such a plate does.
All the drug dealers around here have those plates.

Interesting, but personally I don’t like plates that are “faked”

Im not a fan of most, but they do have their place. Like in some states where you dont have to have a front plate ruining the looks of the car.

Smaller plates in with fewer letters in the UK is the closest thing we can legally get. Not that I can drop the money on a sub-5 character plate..

And yes, some people dont give a sh*t about cars, but some do.

I do however dislike plates like B055 and stuff like that

I remember seeing this Reg around town on the Mayors car

The UK's iconic F1 number plate is widely considered one of the most famous and expensive in the world. Originally issued in 1904 by Essex County Council, it was purchased in 2008 by British automotive designer Afzal Khan for £440,625. It has since received offers exceeding £10 million

The private number plate; possibly the single most pointless item on planet earth??

I agree especially with today’s cryptic / meaningless number plate configurations.

Back in the day there were proper personalised number plates. In the 70’s I used to go out with a rather well heeled young lady with a number plate with 1 and the three initials of her name, as I say a proper personalised number plate.

Wait until you see the prices of plates sold in UAE and China...christ!

That style is still available.

It's still cryptic. Nobody passing would know what it meant.

A local company here that has liveried vehicles of Oswestry Waste Paper has plates like OWP1 or similar. That isn't cryptic.

Still available today but the 1 ABC style are horrendously expensive.

The best I ever saw was the MD of Dunlop, again in the 70’s it was A1, now that’s a number plate.

I was going to edit it after thinking about the cryptic bit, and yes some are quite cryptic because of the expense. Those ones are a bit naff.
