If the nipple can be unscrewed do that fill with oil get an extra long timber lock 6.5 screw or fit a grease nipple and pump it out with grease.

....... I can't push it out unfortunately because the Westlake Taurus cylinder doesn't have removable nipples like a black powder pistol. The pockets for shot shell primers are machined into the cylinder.

Were it I, I'd carefully hacksaw the case head off, or at least enough to get the powder out, then continue cutting the head off. Then use a broken screw extractor (like an Irwin EX-3; which should be the right diameter to grip the case wall), and break it loose from the die. I had to use this method on a Mauser that had a case head separation, and it worked well (different size screw extractor of course).

I’ll give that a try when I get home.

You'll be pleased to know I'm alive and still have both hands. All very unspectacular! Came out without any problem at all.

I do have a layer of lead which has welded itself inside the chamber of the cylinder. What's the best way to get it out?

An overnight soak in some bore solvent should loosen it.

Pour copious amounts of boiling water over the cylinder. The lead will lift off.

I keep forgetting about the lead lifting properties of boiling water, don't know why because that's how my dad always cleaned his shotgun. I'm still using it today and the bores are like they left the factory.
