2 x does came into a Cherry wood call last night. Big buck with doe not at all interested. However called this young buck in to 50 yds.

Seen more Roe bucks than does and Muntjac this week. A couple of chases but not much else.

A few bucks doing their thing in borders yesterday in the Roxburgh region, middle of the day when we had overcast weather for an hour. Popped out when sun went away for a quick chase session

Need this damned burning orb in the sky to go away for a few days!!!!!

This heat is a ball ache, need a good storm and some humidity!

No doubt their rutting, but it will all be done at night in the relative cool.

With some rain this morning its appeared too kick them into gear, a drive up and down the a75 too dumfries seen a doe being chased, then another doe being chased with another buck onlooking. just hopefully its the same on our ground.

Went out last night to look for Roe and tried calling in areas where we knew there were bucks. Never even saw a Roe of any gender but had muntjacs come to within 5 yds. Very strange but saw thrèe good broods of Grey partridge settling down for the night on the stubbles which I hadn't seen on the margins before they combined that area. Smallest brood 8 largest 11. Also a group of big Fallow bucks with very good heads on 5 or 6 of them.

Plenty occurring this morning while I walked the dogs, completely oblivious to the two spaniels and a Border.

Been up to our few bits in D&G, little bucks definitely trying their luck and chasing. Big mature boys know the crack and are lay up, biding their time from what we've seen these last few days. Weather dependant, but don't think its far off.

Seeing plenty of does but no bucks or activity. I agree think cooler nights and clear skies bucks will be busy at night and a full moon on the 29th.

Exactly that, right think this years going to be a bit of a poor show, ahhh but bigger and better for next year!

Nothing on our end across the night and morning yesterday night after calling we heard some squeaking in response, today at quite literally thousands and thousands of acres glassed all we stumbled across was a doe with two kids, and a wee tiny buck that stopped mid stride and believed if he stood still we wouldn't see him! except he stuck out like a sore thumb!
