Has anyone been able to buy 6.5C Sako Powerhead Blade cartridges yet in the 'heralded' 123gr which has replaced the 120gr? If so, any terminal results?
I had forgotten about this thread but thought I would give my findings of factory v home load info from my chrono.
5 rounds of 120gr factory powerhead blades in .270 in my 20" barrel Tikka T3X gave an average MV of 2957.3 fps
5 rounds of 120gr home loads gave an average of 3033.1 fps
I'm happy with these figures and confident they will do the business on the deer every bit as good as the factory stuff.
I’m going to try the 140 grain blades in my 7MM SAUM. I anticipate easily getting 3000 fps .
May I please ask how you have found the factory blades on deer - and roughly how many deer you have taken with them? Thanks!

I have found the factory loads good on deer, comparable to lead in terms of accuracy and effectiveness. I have only shot approx. 20 deer with them so this isn't a huge sample. Mainly Roe deer but have shot a red spiker too. Most dropped on the spot but a couple took a few steps then dropped but didn't have any runners.

Recovered from Fallow Buck, 162gn blade bullet. All the way through and stopped just under the skin on the far side. I’ve also had exactly the same thing last night on a good size Sika with bullet recovered on the underside of the skin on the far side of the animal. Both animals dropped to the shot.

The 162's appear to be phenomenally accurate out of my 18" 308. Doing 1620fts. I've just bought 100 bullets to try reloading and see if I can get the ft/s up a little more and keep the single hole groups
