Slightly firm bolt lift on Tikka T3x

Morning folks...

I changed the trigger on one of my Tikkas the other day, for a factory replacement. I've done the same before on another T3x with no issue at all.

On this one, the bolt is just slightly firm to lift after dry firing. It cycles as normal if not fired, but after a dry fire it takes just a little more effort to lift. It wasn't like that before I swapped the trigger, and the other rifle with the same trigger isn't like that.

Thoughts?

I'm not worried, it's certainly not stiff or difficult to use, but it is noticeably firmer than it was before and only after the trigger has been released.

Strip out fire control mech

Wash down with suitable cleaner and clean bolt tube and cocking ramp of bolt tube

If you see any pitting then polish out with a polishing wheel and rouge without removing material

Apply small amount if decent grease (I use red boretech) to this area and re lube the fire control spring

Re assemble and try cocking after firing

You may be surprised

That stiffness is from cocking - nothing to do with the trigger I expect.

You could put a small dab of grease on the cocking cam/ramp which should help.

Grease here:

Seemed odd to me that it should only manifest itself after changing the trigger... Perhaps I was just more sensitive to it knowing something was different 🤷‍♂️
Either way, I've greased it and it's no different to my other Tikka now. Which, incidentally, is a bit stiffer than I remembered 😂
It's all in my head...
