Some thoughts on Kelso

I never made it to Kelso so just to put your minds at rest the chap with the Red-Dot was in fact the famous Indian stalker Mr C.J. Popitintheass.

When I was in school nobody had heard of the Internet let alone having a PC :old:

Now I come to think about it, when I was at school the only thing P.C. stood for was, Police Constable... Different days...

As for Kelso... I really couldn't fault it. More of the same please... but... What are you going to do if next time the weather is good and everyone who might turn up does turn up? .... It's going to be very, very busy. :D

In a way and oddly enough, I think the weather maybe did the event a bit of a favour. It seems to have been busy enough... that it wasn't over crowded (queuing happened here and there, but was minimal for food, for instance)... and the exhibitors seem to have made money without selling out of everything. A great place on the planning graph to start.

Good luck with next year... looking forward to it already.

I thought it was a great show. Nice to meet some names off the site.
I would like to make some suggestions:
for all the short arses (me) there trying to see the butchery course would it be possible to have a camera and screen over the event, and the butchers with microphones.
the same goes for the dog man trying to do his talk.
could the bar be screened off to keep the noise down because although it wasn,t loud it made hearing what was being said difficult.
but all in all what a great job the lads who organised it did.
well done to you all
Alan

Two big tv screen showing event times...one at the main entrance and one on the opposite wall to the main entrance or over the doorway to the other side of the site

In light of the positive feedback, the rear hall will be better utilised next year, and the likelihood is we will erect at least one large marquee to join up the halls and get more exhibitors in there as well. Pleas bare in mind though that by adding on marquees, plus flooring and heating for them it increases costs. The fair will never become expensive to the point of being criticised, but it may require a slight rise to allow for that expansion. It really was done on a very, very tight margin this year and that includes the costs of the stands. We wanted to make sure traders were happy to take the gamble, plus ensure their turn over was satisfactory in the first year. Regardless of how we improve on it, we will ensure that for both traders and public it will remain (we hope) the cheapest and best value for money fair of the year. And that will include catering there as well which also seems to be getting favourable comments for the quality and pricing?

whilst there sunday i seen over 200 people, how many turned up on each day, do you know.
good show, the price at the door was great, i would hate to see that increase dramatically but also understand that as it grows costs will also rise.
well done,

If it went up to a tenner it would still be worth every penny Brian at the end of the day what do you get for a tenner these days !
As has being said already i missed the shows in the hall that i would have liked to see so a small leaflet on entry or a louder speaker system would be great

We will look into that for next year... :thumb:

Not often I am told that I cannot be heard though!

Thought it was a good day with a good turn out my only criticism would be it was too crowded, didn't really have room to look in the stalls in 1 stall I had 2 knifes in my hand to buy and wanted another out the cabinet but couldn't get the guys attention to pay him, my misses went back to the same stall later to get me something and after fighting her way half way in the guy who's stall it was was standing yapping infront of the thing she wanted to get to she said excuse me 3 times wether he was too deep in conversation or what I don't know but that was a trader down over 100 notes, apart from that it was a good day.

Top event, first class, I'll be there next year,
Thanks to all involved in the organisation a credit to you

Great show but could do with more road sign's further out to advertise and give directions . I went with a mate who lives local he was getting phone calls off other stalkers for directions they where turning the wrong way at sainsburys

Thats fantastic at least doing the job , that will be one trader that will be back next year hope he brings his mates with him , the place certainly wasnt over crowded have you ever been to the game fair when it is raining every stall is packed with no one buying ,these fairs for me is about meeting people ,seeing whats on the market and seeing what is current news on the stalking front .

But it wasnt doing the job if trade was lost....Iv been to a gamefair or 2, and I didn't say anything about the crack etc, correct tho its nice to see what's on the market, and buy it if you like it. But that's for us a trader is there to trade and too much yappin not enough trading defeats the purpose of them attending...... I had a good day like I said, though I stand by what I said it was a bit crowded which is a good thing as it shows it was well attended but be better in a bigger venue, that's just my thoughts I didn't say I wouldn't go back.

Were you there Saturday lunchtime-ish by any chance?

There was a bit of a surge around that time but the rest of the time it was busy but I wouldn't have said it was excessive.
