South Yorkshire

BASC are a member of the BSSC - there are about 9-12 members of the BSSCouncil - nobody check the minutes /ask to be advised of matters of relevance/raise an automatic objection to any changes to HOG?
Whilst I still doubt the Yorkshire justification for such a harsh change, they at least fulfilled one of the obligations to change from HOG which is to consult - shame nobody at BASC was at home/switched on/careful of members interests/maybe even awake. However, you cannot say BASC were not consulted !
If BASC are this lax about changes to HOG then anything will get through - like medicals.
I really do despair and seriously object to BASC suggesting it is "The Voice of Shooting" which world might that be in ?
I note Ladyguns apology for not being able to help in this instance - BASC helping in any such instance would be a first.

The evidence of increased criminality is in the policy document. Afraid it will not attach to this post, too big apparently. Email me?

Thank you Kes for the JR guide. I’ve saved it. Quoting £30,000 if the action is lost, so not the cheapest option.....Having looked at launching a JR in 2013 (nothing to do with BASC) the initial costs were quoted as £40,000. The group I was part of, opposing deep cuts in the legal aid budget for child protection, did not take it further at the time. Totally different scenario, obviously.

Out of interest , you say JR’s are futile , may I ask what the point of the 8 million pound “ fighting fund “ is ?

Now I do agree with kes jimbo that I think that we as a whole need to start standing up to "some" of these questionable interpretations of HOG I have to ask you why are you asking BASC to spend their "fighting fund" to sort out this when your not even a member? Try asking SGA who your a member of !! after all you have said on numerous occasions they have balls, so perhaps they may wish to flash they're teeth a bit eh ?

Perhaps a JR may not be the "cheapest option" (your words, not mine).... but it may be the right option.

Are you suggesting that BASC's default position is to look at the cheapest option? Shouldn't the default be to start with which is the best option in the interests of their members?

£30k if the action is lost.... If. If BASC never step into the ring, then they will never lose. But conversely, they will undoubtedly never ever secure a victory either.

I was a member for over 15 years , as you know if you’re happy with the service basc provides fair enough it’s your funeral

I do agree IMHO it's wrong that guidance can be run off at such a tangent however it tickled me that your moaning at BASC to sort it out when you pay an annual subscription to SGA 😆😆

I’m not moaning at basc im
Moaning because you and other members are being overcharged for a service that’s let’s face it doesn’t exist ..... we’re all part of the same community , but basc has been letting their members down for a long time , but oddly most don’t seem bothered

No your not your constantly moaning either about or at BASC, try moaning to the tribe YOU pay YOUR subs to cause they're not doing owt either, so should I join them ? I've said before on a previous thread when the time is right FOR ME I'm out of all organisations and going insurance only, but I can't see how you can constantly bitch an gripe at BASC when your paying to an organisation that's not jumping up or down to change anything either.. Even though you reckon they "have balls"

Forgive me for making this comment but apparently BASC werent involved in the consultation with South Yorkshire carried out with BSSC -I cant believe it, since the following are the officers of BSSC
Officers of the BSSC
PRESIDENT – The Rt Hon Lord Robathan PC
CHAIRMAN – Jonathan Djanogly MP
VICE-CHAIRMEN - Martyn Jones, Derek Stimpson
TREASURER – Bill Harriman
SECRETARY – Graham Downing

Aren't Bill Harriman and Martyn Jones Employees/Council members at BASC ?
So no -one knew at BASC?
To Ladygun I would say - someone is not telling you the whole story or they were both on holiday or Covid 19 preventing them attending or ...............?
